UPPER LIMB: Neurovasc Flashcards
Brachial plexus is formed by
Ventral rami of C5. to T1
-c5 to t1 grab the bible for the nun (with your arms)
What nerves arise from the posterior cord?
+ roots
AXILLARY N. (C5, C6)
and
RADIAL N. (C6, C7, C8)
What nerve(s) arise from the lateral cord?
MUSCULOCUTANEOUS N. (C5, C6)
What nerve(s) arise from the medial and lateral cord?
MEDIAN N. (C6-T1)
and
ULNAR N. (C8, T1)
Where does the basilic vein arise from and become?
originates from the dorsal venous network of the hand and ascends the medial aspect of the upper limb.
combines with brachial veins to form the axillary vein
Where does the cephalic vein arise from and become?
arises from the dorsal venous network of the hand. It ascends the antero-lateral aspect of the upper limb, passing anteriorly at the elbow.
=> joins axillary v. empties into subclavian
Where does the ulnar vein arise from and its significance?
The deep venous palmar arch gives rise to the main deep veins of the forearm, namely the radial and ulnar veins.
deep venous palmar arch receives the palmar metacarpal veins and drains predominantly into the radial veins of the lateral forearm.
The X vein arises at the lateral end of the dorsal venous arch and Y vein arises at the medial end of the dorsal venous arch
Cephalic = Lateral
Basilic. = medial end
