adductor magnus

A

O: I pubic ramus; ischial ramus; ischial tuberosity
I: deep part (“fleshy insertion”) - M lip of linea aspera; superficial part (“tendinous part”) - adductor tubercle of femur
Inn: deep/adductor part - P branch of obturator n. (L2-L4); superficial/hamstrings part - tibial n. (L4)
A: adduction, extension, and slight flexion of hip (tendinous insertion also active in internal (M) rotation); stabilizes pelvis in coronal and sagittal planes

obturator externus

A

O: outer surface of obturator membrane and its bony boundaries
I: trochanteric fossa of femur
Inn: obturator n. (L3, L4)
A: adduction and external (L) rotation of hip; stabilizes pelvis in sagittal plane
