unit 3.3 Flashcards
What is the Endoplasmic reticulum structure?
Nextwork of mentalis channels, rough ER(ribosomes) and smooth ER(no ribosomes).
What is the Endoplasmic reticulum structure?
Nextwork of mentalis channels, rough ER(ribosomes) and smooth ER(no ribosomes).
WHt is the function of rough ER?
processes and sorts protein to next be secreted out of the cell.
sends proteins in vesicles that pinch off from the membrane.
Function of smooth ER?
Makes lipids and carbohydrates.
Detoxifies poisons.
Stores and releases Ca2+ ions(messanger of muscel contractions).
What is the name of the thing that,
modifies, sorts, packages and transports protein from ER,
frogs transport vesicles?
Golgi apparatus.
What is the type of vesicles filled with digestive enzymes,
and digests damages, worn out, entire cells, pathogens?
Lysosomes.
What organelle produces most of the ATP?
Mitochondria(creates about 36), but glycolysis is faster.
What type of structure is DNA that exists as a strand, except during cell division?
Chromatin(spaghetti strand), but commissioner is made out of chromatin (packed spaghetti).
What is contained and the functions of nucleus?
Nuclear envelope, holds the whole structure.
Nuclear pores, used to distribute DNA(mRNA) to rough ER.
Chromosomes.
Chromatin.
Nucleolus.
What are the functions of the Cytoskeleton?
Mison actin filaments.
Maintain structure (bone system in cell).
Transport vesicles around cell.
Sometimes creates movement.
What is the function of microvilli?
To increase surface area, used in absorbtion in intestine.
Doesn’t move compared to cillia.
What is the thing that is a temporary organelle when mitosis occurs?
Centrosome\centrioles, pins cell andchromosomes for stability during split.
What is the function of cilia?
Moves fluids or eggs across the surface of the cell.
Found in airway, and filopian tubes.
What is the flagella and function?
Tail of the sperm(cell).
What is the function of a ribosome?
Binds mRNA and tRNA too synthesize polypeptide and protein(translation process).
