A
Use of the dorsogluteal site is now discouraged as there is risk of damaging

Easily accessible Use of small volume: 0.5 - 1 ml Not used for infants Risk of injury to brachial artery, radial and ulnar nerves May be used for immunizations

Deep site, away from major nerves or vessels
Preferred site for meds that are larger in volume (ie) antibiotics
