Clostridium Difficile
Bacillus that produces toxins that can cause diarrheal infections in person in hospitals, residential care facilities.
Produces spores that are resistant to common types of disinfectants.
Noro Virus
Acute gastroenteritis that is sudden in onset and typically resolves with 2-3 days. Characterized by nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal cramping.
Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus
An infection that is caused by staph bacteria that become resistant to many of the antibiotics used to treat staph infections. Occurs in people who have been in hospitals.
Vancomycin Resistant Enterococcus
Type of bacteria called enterococcus that has developed resistance to antibiotics, especially vancomycin.
