ultrasonography
An imaging procedure using highfrequency sound waves to noninvasively examine soft tissue architecture and function with real-time dynamic imaging. No ionizing radiation or other known safety hazard is encountered with diagnostic ultrasonography. Value of ultrasonography is highly user dependent, relying on the sonographer’s patience, skill, and experience.
urography
A radiographic contrast study of the kidneys and ureters. Other names: excretory urography, intravenous urography (old term: intravenous pyelogram or IVP).
urethrography
A radiographic contrast study of the urethra. Urethrogram.
ureterocele
A congenital anomaly resulting in an abnormal, focal, cystlike dilation of a terminal ureter.
