A
- Its length is greater than its width
- Used to facilitate movement - levers
(Eg. Femur, humerus, metacarpals, metatarsals, phalanges)

A
- Its length and width are indistinguishable
- Used for strength and support
(Eg. Bones of the wrist (carpals) and ankle (tarsals))

A
- Used for protection of vital organs
(Eg. Ribs, sternum, scapula)

Type of Bone: Irregular
A
- Odd-shaped
- Used for attachment, support and protection
(Eg. Vertebrae, mandible, many of the facial bones)

A
- Resembles a sesame seed shape
- Used for leverage
(Eg. Kneecap (patella) and at the base of the thumb and big toe)
