Quiz Flashcards

1
Q

Describe the dangerous trend now sweeping North America and what can be done to reverse this trend.

A

We are casualties of our technology; majority of the North American population is inactive (as of 2006 it is 60%+). The healthcare system is overburdened presently and will only get worse, leaving future generations of smaller population density to deal with the aging baby boomers and the drain on the healthcare funds. Adolescents are more INACTIVE than ever before and are now showing more hypokinetic (low movement) disease decades earlier than the adolescents of three-four decades ago.
What can be done? Get involved and be a leader in your community passing on, through education, the means by which the sedentary can reduce the risks of long-term inactive lifestyles.
