Bone Cells, Bone Remodeling and Osteoporosis Flashcards
1
Q
Osteoblast (4 points))
A
1.Osteoblasts BUILD NEW bone
2. They are smaller than the osteoclast
3. They follow after the osteoclast
4. They lay down new bone in the “divot” left behind by the osteoclast
2
Q
Osteoclast (4 points)

- Osteoclasts EAT AWAY OLD bone
- They are BIGGER than the osteoblasts
- They TRAVEL AHEAD of the osteoblast
- They create a “hole” or “divot” for the osteoblast to fill in with new bone
