Why were planes used in ww1
To spy on the enemy trenches and to survey the enemy
What was the use of Barbed wire
To make it harder for the men to get into the enemy trenches
How many shots could a machine gun fire
Around 8 shots per second so max they could shoot is 600 - 800 rounds a min
What is no mans land
It is the area between the two trenches
Why were the German trenches better than the British trenches
Well the brit trenches were only temporary and consisted of holes and mud, on the other hand germanys were concreted with room and underground places
What are dugouts
They are small little rooms underground in the trenches used as protection from shelling.
What was Long Ranged Artillery used for?
They are used to fire explosive shells into trenches and to destroy barbed wire (which didn’t work)
Why were trenches zigzagged
They made it harder for artillery to hit several people
