Collective Training
Collective training is UNIT TRAINING to prepare cohesive Detachments, Companies, Battalions, and Groups to accomplish their critical wartime missions successfully.
Training Concepts
A training concept is a DOCUMENT which outlines a training IDEA/MISSION and contains all the information necessary to plan and conduct the training/mission.
Concept selection (Two types of training):
- ON & Off-post CONUS training
- OCONUS Training
Realistic Military Training RMT
Any military training events occurring off of real federal property
RMT events are critical to force readiness
Comprehensive and effective risk identification and mitigation
III MAJOR RISK - CDR USSOCOM
II MODERATE RISK - CG 1ST SFC(A)
I MINOR RISK - 0-6 WITH COMMAND AUTHORITY
OCONUS TRAINING CONCEPT
Normally conducted in assigned theater/AOR
OCONUS training conducted outside of apportioned theaters/AORs will be considered by the 1st SFC (A) CG, on a case-by-case basis.
OCONUS Training Concepts submitted thru 1st SFC (A) G3
OCONUS concept must meet the following criteria
Training is METL based and conforms to SF doctrine and application
Country clearance requests submitted
Group Staff Judge Advocate will review for legal sufficiency
DIRLAUTH
Direct Liaison Authority
Authority granted by a commander (any level) to a subordinate to directly consult or coordinate an action with a command or agency within or outside of the granting command.
Coordination relationship, not an authority through which command may be exercised.
Concept Development Steps (TICCS C)
- Training desired?
- If written concept is required?
- Conduct research
- Complete written document
- Submit for review / approval
- Continue to refine concept
