- Railways for easy access

A
Began in 1930s. By 50s, Club Med was huge.

What is the holdup problem? How did UK resort hotels eliminate this problem?
A
People hesitant to sign up for resorts in case its too expensive once they do.
UK solved this by telling customers nothing will be priced higher than on the high street - promised a fixed price.

- Racist vacationers don’t like seeing locals
- Only 20-30% of revenue stays local through wages

Used to be Americans/Europeans mainly.
China is also huge - Macau gets 30 million visitors for gambling.
Mexico gets 66 million.
