Douglas DC-3 - was used by Delta, TWA, American, and United
What was adopted in planes post WWII (late 40s)?
Boeing 307 - had pressurized cabin which flew 20,000 feet up.
When was the Golden Age of air travel? What happened?
50s-60s.
- Used computerized reservation
- Concorde plane could fly transatlantic but expensive
How did plane tickets become more affordable? Which company adopted it?
- Cheaper ticket = less inflight services.
Laker Airways (UK) did this. - New technology reduced fuel consumption and engine wear
In the 80s and 90s, cheaper tickets were normal. Which companies had exceptionally cheap tickets?
Ryanair and EasyJet (20 pounds).
