Socio-pleasure
Pleasure that comes from a feeling of belonging to a social group or social interactions.
Physio-pleasure
Pleasure derived from touching, smelling, hearing and tasting something. Also conveyed by an object’s effectiveness in doing something.
Psycho-pleasure
Pleasure derived from cognition, discovery, knowledge and other things that satisfy the intellect.
Ideo-pleasure
Pleasure is derived from how the product appeals to the user’s values and beliefs.
Design for emotion
Visceral: The aesthetics, sound, look and feel of a product.
Behavioural: The function of the product and how easy it is to use.
Reflective: What the product says about you. E.g. Buying an electric car will show your consciousness of environmental issues.
Attract-converse-transact (ACT) model
The ACT model is a framework for intentionally triggering an emotional response in the user.
Attract
The product is desirable because it is aesthetically appealing.
Converse
The product is usable.
