Answer 1

E.g. quarrying makes large holes which change the landscape. / quarrying processes produce a lot of noise and dust. / quarrying destroys wildlife habitats. / the lorries used to transport the limestone cause noise and pollution. / energy is needed to process the limestone. As this energy is likely to come from burning fossil fuels it will cause pollution.

What are the social and economic effects of using limestone as a building material?

Answer 2

E.g. quarrying and building provide jobs for people and brings in money for local economy. This can lead to improvements locally in transport, roads, recreational facilities and health.
