E.g. marble is a metamorphic rock. Metamorphic rocks are formed by the action of heat and pressure on rocks over a long period of time.

Give an example of an igneous rock, and describe how igneous rocks form.

A

E.g. granite is an igneous rock. Igneous rocks form when molten magma pushes up into the crust, cools and solidifies. Crystals on different sizes form depending on the rate of cooling.
