A

whenever there is:

  • loss of body fluids
  • heat damaging the fluids
  • depletion of yin
  • obstruction of channel vessels by phlegm rheum
  • blood stasis
  • fluids not rising to moisten the upper
  • deficiency cold of lower region causing inability to steam the fluids upward
