Lung heat

SP/ST Damp Heat

alternating cold and heat or

dislike of greasy foods
vomiting
pulse: string like, slippery, rapid

LR/GB damp heat

alternating periods of cold and vigorous heat at indefinite times- sometimes several times in one day severe headache nausea, vomiting profuse sweat possible spirit clouding and delirium and/or maculae

epidemic toxin - ying level

fulminant heat or vigorous heat clouding of spirit and delirium sluggish tongue impeding speech limb reversal (cold limbs) tongue: crimson, yellow fur pulse: fine and rapid

heat in the PC - ying level wei qi pattern going directly to ying level skipping Qi level

heat that is more severe at night heart vexation, agitation, harassment possible delirium dry throat no desire for liquids insomnia maculae on skin tongue: crimson with no fur pulse: fine and rapid

heat in the ying qi

vigorous fever especially harassing at night agitation clouding or spirit, mania, delirium macules breaking through the skin bloody vomit bloody stool etc. tongue: crimson without coating pulse: fine and rapid

heat in the xue

mild heat or vexing heat sometimes vigorous heat yellow, turbid diarrhea (sometimes fulminant downpouring) burning heat around anus foul odor to the stool abdominal pain blood and pus in the stool abdominal urgency rectal heaviness (tenesmus) tongue: red with yellow, slimy coat maybe: short, red urine fatigue of the body and limbs vexing thirst or thirst with not desire for fluids

LI damp heat

mild heat or vexing heat red face vexing thirst redness at tip of tongue sores on the tongue (sever cases) short and red urine frequent, urgent urination rough and painful urination bloody urine tongue: yellow and thin, not usually think or slimy

SI damp heat

mild heat, tidal fever, or vigorous heat urinary frequency urinary urgency rough, scanty and painful urination yellow-red or turbid urine possibly bloody urine urine with sand or stones tenseness and pain of small abdomen or lumbar pain tongue: yellow, slimy fur pulse: string like, slippery and rapid

UB damp heat

vigorous heat (or mild or tidal) painful joints pain that travels and is not determinate redness, swelling and heat of affected area unbearable pain difficulty moving joints tongue: red with yellow fur pulse: rapid maybe: red face sweating vexing thirst heart palpitations macules on the skin

wind damp heat obstruction

mild heat, tidal fever, vexing heat, steaming bone vexing heat of the five hearts red cheek bones night sweating dry throat and mouth emaciation tongue: red or crimson, scanty, dry tongue fur pulse: fine and rapid

yin deficiency pattern Lung yin deficiency (tidal fever)+ Lu sx LR yin deficiency (tidal or low fever)+LR sx KD yin deficiency (tidal fever) + KD sx

mild fever, vexing heat or tidal fever, sometimes vigorous heat pale face without luster or withered yellow face dizziness heart palpitations insomnia numbness of the limbs pale lips and nails tongue: pale with thin white and dry fur pulse: fine and rapid

blood deficiency pattern (often after significant blood loss or giving birth)

mild heat, lingering heat or possibly tidal fever heat severe during the day and recedes at night (but occasionally severe at night also or vigorous) fever stronger after taxation or exertion pale face spontaneous sweating shortness of breath lack of strength tongue: pale, fat with teeth marks with white fur pulse: forceless and large or forceless and rapid

qi deficiency pattern

extreme thirst lack of sweating profuse urination heat or tidal heat 2 to 3 months

"infantile" summerheat occurs in summer in children

fever after giving birth breast welling abscesses welling abscesses after surgery clove sore toxins, streaming sores, flowing phlegm, internal welling abscesses

may all cause signs of heat "miscellaneous"

GB heat congesting and stagnating

depressed GB with phlegm harassing

tidal fever or low fever night sweating red cheeks heart vexation thirst soreness and weakness of lumbus, knees head dizziness ringing in the ears or deafness seminal emission thin, emaciated body yellow urine, bound stools vexing heat of the 5 hearts heart palpitations difficulty in sleeping tongue: red with yellow fur pulse: string like and rapid or fine and rapid

non interaction of HT-KD

tidal fever or low fever vexing heat of five hearts nigt sweating red cheeks dry mouth and throat yellow urine bound stools sorness and weakness of lumbus and knees dizziness seminal emission thin and emaciated body tongue: red with little fur or fluids pulse: fine and rapid
