headache that is relatively mild and pain is dull dizziness > pain pale complexion without luster or withered yellow complexion pale lips and nails heart palpitations insomnia numbness of the limbs
blood vacuity pattern
headache that is dull pain emptiness and pain or distending pain but mild tidal fever night sweating vexing heat of the five hearts red cheekbones dry throat and mouth emaciation
tongue: purple with little fur
pulse: fine, rapid
maybe also: heart palpitations insomnia forgetfulness dry cough hoarseness dizziness ear ringing pain in the waist and knees
yin deficiency pattern (internal vacuity heat)
headache is mild induced or made worse by taxation fatigue headache worse on exertion or standing a long time pale white complexion dizziness shortness of breath laziness in speaking spirit fatigue lack of strength spontaneous sweating
tongue: pale, enlarged white fur
pulse: empty
often: heart palpitations torpid uptake abdominal distension sloppy stools panting cough low voice susceptibility to external invasion (insufficiency of the functions of the 5 zang)
qi deficiency pattern
headache is mild cold pain fear of cold cold limbs pale or dusky complexion withered essence spirit
tongue: pale or dark purple or tender
pulse: deep and slow or fine and weak
maybe: heart palpitations pain in the heart and chest torpid uptake abdominal cold and pain sloppy stools ringing in the ears cold soreness of the lumbus and knees
