Counterconditioning
Conditions new responses to stimuli that trigger unwanted behaviors

Desired behaviors are rewarded (reinforcement) and undesired behaviors are punished

Expose patients to things they fear and avoid; anxiety lessens
Systematic Desensitization
Associates a pleasant, relaxed state with gradually increasing anxiety-triggering stimuli
Aversive Conditioning
Associates an unpleasant state with an unwanted behavior; Ex. Nausea –> Alcohol

Exchanges a token earned for desired behavior for various privileges or treats

Give the client a rational or logical view of reality
