One sentence summary of the Gospel
Jesus Christ died to take the punishment we deserve
because of our rebellion against God; He was buried
and was raised on the third day that those who
believe in Him might not perish in hell,
but have eternal life.

John 19:33

John 19:40-41
40 Taking Jesus’ body, the two of them wrapped it, with the spices, in strips of linen. This was in accordance with Jewish burial customs. 41 At the place where Jesus was crucified, there was a garden, and in the garden a new tomb, in which no one had ever been laid.

everything He claimed was true.
MATTHEW 28:5-7

that He has risen from the dead.
ACTS 1:2-3

THE PROMISE OF THE GOSPEL
- A Spiritual Birth
John 3:3-8
3 Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.[a]”
4 “How can someone be born when they are old?” Nicodemus asked. “Surely they cannot enter a second time into their mother’s womb to be born!”
5 Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. 6 Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit[b] gives birth to spirit. 7 You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You[c] must be born again.’ 8 The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”[d]
- Forgiveness of Sins
ACTS 10:43
Of Him all the prophets bear witness
that through His name everyone who
believes in Him receives forgiveness
of sins.
- Eternal Life
John 3:16 -
For God so loved the world, that He gave
His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.
Application of the Gospel
- Repent
Matthew 4:17
From that time Jesus began to preach
and say, ‘Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Luke 5:32
I have not come to call righteous men,
but sinners to repentance.
Acts 11:18
Well then, God has granted to the Gentiles also the repentance that leads to life.
Acts 26:19-20
I did not prove disobedient to the heavenly vision,
but kept declaring both to those of Damascus
first, and also at Jerusalem and then throughout
all the region of Judea, and even to the Gentiles,

- Trust

Romans 10:9-11
