MATTHEW
28:18-20

A

And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “All
authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.
Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son
and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I
commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to
the end of the age.”

Q

What is the take away from Matthew 28:18-20, in regards to our marching orders?

A

Until Jesus
Comes

“All authority…” so we have an obligation, a right,
and the power.

“Go”, not wait until they come.

“Make Disciples” central command.

“All nations” ethne – distinct people
groups

“Baptizing” bringing to faith and entry
into a community.

“Teaching all” knowing and obeying –
transformation.

“To the end of the age” until Jesus
comes.

Q

According to the Parable Of The Sower in MATTHEW 13, what is the Christians responsibility in regards to evangelism

A

Our responsibility is to sow the seeds of the Gospel, not to “Save” people

It is God who brings the results.

Responses will be different.

How then will they call on Him in whom they have
not believed? How will they believe in Him whom
they have not heard? And how will they hear without

Q

ACTS 13:1-3

A

Now there were at Antioch, in the church
that was there, prophets and teachers:
Barnabas, and Simeon who was called
Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen
who had been brought up with Herod the
tetrarch, and Saul. While they were ministering to the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for Me Barnabas and
Saul for the work to which I have called them.”
Then, when they had fasted and prayed and laid
their hands on them, they sent them away.

2 CORINTHIANS 5:18-20

A

Now all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself
through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation,
namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself,
not counting their trespasses against them, and He has
committed to us the word of reconciliation. Therefore, we are
ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal
through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.

Paul and Timothy, bond-servants of Christ Jesus, to all the saints in Christ Jesus who are in Philippi, including the overseers and
deacons: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always offering prayer with joy in my every prayer for you all, in view of your participation in the gospel from the first day until now.

Q

Relationship between Fruit, Character, and Evangelism in JOHN 15:8

A

This fruit can be to do with character – the
fruit of the Spirit, or to do with evangelism
where others come to faith in Jesus.

In essence it is both. Character shines to a
lost world and we then are able to tell them
about the Gospel. Ex. a healthy marriage in
Europe.
