The subcutaneous layer
A
1) . important in stabilizing the position of the skin to underlying tissues(skeletal muscles or organs), while still permitting independent movement.
2) . consists of loose connective tissue with abundant adipocytes
3) . only the superficial region contains large arteries and veins; the remaining areas contain a limited number of capillaries and no vital organs.
