allowed British soldiers to live in colonial houses for free

lower: riot, attack tax collectors

Parliament passing the Declaratory Act
Declaratory Act
passed after Stamp Act. Parliament had final say on what went on in the 13 colonies.
Sons of Liberty
lower classes, founded by Samuel Adams, protest group against the British taxations
Townshend Acts
(not directly) tax on tea, glass, and paper. Private homes could be searched for smuggled goods.
