Catholics and Protestants wanted to convert Natives to their religion, the religious-based reason for Europeans coming to the New World.

The cultural movement of new goods, ideas, inventions, and European expansion.
What was a caravel?
A tool that helped the Europeans with navigation and sailing.
What was Reconquista? And what was the result of it?
The Spanish expelled Muslims and Jews from the Iberian Peninsula in 1492. They gained great power from this but leaves an abundance of warriors and trauma.
Who were Conquistadors?
Cortés, Pizzaro. European men who came to the New World hoping to claim land and conquer natives.
Who was Hernando Cortés?
A Spaniard who takes over the Mexican mainland, and conquers the Aztecs.
How do the Spanish practice their conquering skills?
They conquer small islands off the coast of Africa and islands in the Atlantic.
How did Cortés conquer the Aztecs?
He captured their leader and freeze the empire. He had weapons and horses (that the Natives have never seen), and with alliances, he succeeds
What happened after Cortés conquered the Aztecs?
He took over the empire, but shorlty
