Cartilage: flexible tissues forming c-shaped rings in the trachea to keep the airway open

Describe the features which make the alveoli efficient to gas exchange structures
A
Large surface area
Very thin walls (alveoli and capillary walls)
Surface of alveoli is moist to allow oxygen to dissolve easily
