Describe Michael Angelo
Michelangelo Buonarroti, born in 1475 in Caprese, Italy, was a renowned Renaissance artist famous for his sculptures, paintings, and architectural works. He gained early recognition with his sculptures “Pietà” (1498-1499) and “David” (1501-1504), which showcased his exceptional talent. Commissioned by the Pope, he painted the Sistine Chapel ceiling (1508-1512), a masterpiece that cemented his fame. Michelangelo also contributed to the design of St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome later in his career. He remained highly celebrated throughout his life and is remembered as one of the greatest artists in history, dying in 1564.
