1902 Coal Strike
Labor Union goes on strike which drags into winter. Country depends on coal for heat, so Roosevelt forces mine owners and workers to make a deal and end the strike. Changes the government’s formerly laissez-faire approach.

When you advertise an item as a certain food or drug, the item should only include that food or drug, not contain any other substance.

- US worries that Japan or Germany will attack West coast, and the Navy won’t be able to get there in time
- Geography also makes trade inconvenient, and canal will make US seem powerful
- US supports revolution, allows Panama to become an independent country to buy land for the canal
