Q

EXAMPLE

A

Hofstede looked at IBM (a big international organisation operating across many different countries) and he researched and found a number of different dimensions of culture. For example, you would manage a worker that works in England very differently from a person who works in India. For example in the UK and USA it would be fine to challenge your managers decisions to a certain degree, but in India that is seen as extremely disrespectful, and extremely unheard of.

Q

What does internalisation have a huge impact on

A

Internationalisation has a huge impact on: industrial relations, number of strike days taken, the relationship with the workforce in one country (if people are losing their jobs because the job is being offshored). Communication in the company can become a lot harder. Employee laws, how you pay people, employee rights, working hours etc.
