“As Low As Reasonably Achievable”
Refers to the “power” of ultrasound, we use the lowest power possible to avoid heating tissue and causing bubbles

1) Appropriate Assertion
- Speak up for self
- Express concerns
2) Critical Language
- Speaking directly about problem
- Use wording that expresses urgency and seriousness
- “I’m concerned” “I’m uncomfortable”
3) Situational Awareness
- Understand big picture
- Think ahead
- Plan for situational changes

Assist patients, families or communities in achieving optimal health by developing their knowledge and skills necessary to maintain and improve their health.
List types/factors of patient education
- Provided info on their healthcare plan
- Provided with info on how to prep for exam
- Given detail of exam
- Instructions for next steps after exam
- Explain positions, breathing techniques
- Approximate time exam will take
- Follow up care
- Check for understanding (teach back)
- Answer questions before exam
- Provide written instruction if necessary
