A
  • they would restore the pride of german people by getting them working and suppoerting businesses who could make this happen
  • they would take firm action against trade unions and communists who where suposivly undermining german business
  • they would create jobs by opening armaments factories to build weapons in deffence of the treaty of versails

A

creating huge public work programs building motorways, schools and hospitals
they provided jobs for milions of men and although they paid poorly they did restore some pride

A

from 1935 onwards german men where conscribed to the army and more factories where set up to build weapons. both created lots of jobs

  • women and jewish people where sacked from there jobs to create vacancies for men
  • jewish small businesses where closed down allowing german ones to flourish
    women and jews where not counted in the unemploymen figures

why did german workers want to be part of the DAF (german labour front) and what did they have to do if they wanted to be appart of it?

A

all those in the DAF where paid well and treated well. they had regular working hours and it was almost imposible to be sacked however to benifit from the above they had to demonstrate complete loyalty towardss the nazis

A
  • the nazi government controlled prices, set wages, capped profits and controlled imports
  • businesses could no longer run there afairs there own way
  • farmers where given money to help pay off loans but where also given quotes to meeet for food production which limited there freedom

A

to make them apear really strong and powerful. they felt reliing on other countrys would make them apear weak so they wanted to be completely independent

A

he ordered scientists to find artificial substatutes for food and materials such as wool, cotton, cloth, petrol and make up

A

when hitler came to power there where 6 million people unemployed but by 1938 this figure was down to 500,000. for this reason many people suppoerted the nazis but ofcourde there where many loopholes within the statistics
