What was Margret Beaufort role in Henry Tudor gaining the crown ?
-1482, official agreement that Henry Tudor can return to England and get his lands back but in 1483 Edward IV dies causing a pause. On the 6th July Richard III becomes king and Margret starts plotting that Henry Tudor will become king
-in 1485 a servant is sent by Margret to Henry, he’s in England with an army, marching towards London
Henry Tudor invasion
-Henry had been in exile since 1471but it changed in 1481 when Richard III negotiated a deal with Duke of Francis II where he agreed to supply the duchy with English archers to help defend possible invasions
-leaving his safety, Henry walked into France welcomed by King Charles VII and he decided to back Henry financially and military wise.
The march to bosworth
-Henry arrived at mil Dale in Pembrokeshire August 7th and over the next six days marched northwards through havensworth (wales)
-Henry attracted recruits from across mid and north wales. His Mary growing
-by 12th August Henry had won over William op Gruddford and Rhy ap Thomas where they were persuaded with promises of land and office. Thomas moved troops from the south to prepare
Richard reacts
-Richard was at Nottingham castle with an army of 10,000 when he learnt of the invasion
-he hoped they would be defeated by Rhys ap of Thomas or wales.
-he realised he made a mistake and moved troops south to prepare for battle
Market Bosworth battle
-22nd August the 2 armies confronted in the village, the Stanley’s stayed at the side of the battle for majority before they joined the Tudor at the last second

Henrys army
-majority were recruited, most were tennon or farmers recruited by their landlords, lightly armed and ranked as archers
-the landowners (nobles) were more equipped and fought on horses, they were cleverly that provided Henry necessary nobility
Richard’s army
-Henry’s troops were better equipped and considerably more Calvert than Henry
-Richard had more experience of war fare and military command which let him use better tactics such as high ground battle field
What happened to Richard III body ?
Richard’s body was tied up to a mule and taken to Lancashire to be buried
