Hyperactivity
Excessive psychomotor activity that may be purposeful oraimless, accompanied by physical movements and verbal utterances that are usuallymore rapid than normal, inattention and disractibility are common with hyperactive behavior
Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder
A persistent pattern of inattention and/or hyperactivity impulsivity that intereferes with functioning ordevelopment
ADHD Symptoms
- Often fails to give close attention to details or makes careless mistakes in schoolwork, work, or during other activities
- Often has difficulty sustaining attenion in tasks or play activities
- Often does not seem to listen when spoken to directly
- Often does not follow through on instructionsand fails to finish school work, chores, or duties in the workplace
- Often has difficulty organizing tasks and activities
- Often avoids, dislikes, or is reluctant to engage in tasks that require sustained mental effort
- Often loses things necessary for tasks or activities
- Is often easily distracted by extraneous stimuli
- Is often forgetful in daily activities
- Often figets wih or taps hands or feet or squirms in seat
- Often leaves seat in situations when remaining seated is expected
- Ofen runs about or climbs in situations where it is inappropriate
- Often unable toplay or engage in leisure activities quietly
- Is often on the go acting as if driven by a motor
- Often talks excessively
- Often blurts out an answer before a question has b een completed
- Often has difficulty waiting for hisorher turn
- Often inerrupts or intrudes on others
- Several inattentive or hyperactive impulsive symptoms were present prior to age 12 years

Impulsiveness
The trait of acting without reflection andwithout thought to the consequences of the behavior. An abruptinclinationto act (and theinability to resis acting) on certain behavorial impulses

Conduct Disorder
A repetitive and persistent pattern of behavior in which the basic rights of others or major age-appropriate societal norms or rules are violated
Symptoms Conduct Disorder
- Often bullies, threatens, or intimidates others
- Often initates physical fights
- Has used a weapon that can cause serious physical harm to others
- Has been physically cruel to people
- Has been physically creul to animals
- Has stolen while confronting a victim
- Has forced someone into sexual activity
- Has deliberately engaged in fire setting with the intention of causing serious damage
- Has deliberately destroyed others’ property (other than by fire setting)
- Has broken into someone else’s house, building, or car
- Often lies to obtain goods, favors,or to avoid obligations
- Has stolen items of nontrivial value without confronting a victim
- Often stays out at night despite parental prohibitions, beginning at age 13
- Has run away from home overnight at least twice whileliving in parental or parental surrogate home, or once without returning for a lengthy period
- Is often truant from school, beginning before age 13 years
