What is the Spinal Cord
A
The Spinal Cord is an elongated cylinder-like structure running in the vertebral canal formed by successive vertebrae
It is continuous with the medulla oblongata of the brain
Spinal Nerves arise from the spinal cord and leave the spinal cord through tiny openings formed between successive vertebrae
like the brain, the spinal cord is surrounded and protective by the meninges
the spinal cord consists of white matter on the outside and grey matter on the inside

It connects impulses between the brain and the receptors and effectors
It serves as a reflex centre for actions such as blinking, sneezing coughing and knee jack
