Carry blood away from the heart (usually oxygenated blood, though there is one exception)
what is the purpose of capillaries?
Tiny blood vessels that carry blood between cells
what is the purpose of veins?
Carries blood back to the heart (usually deoxygenated)
what is the structure of arteries? (elasticity, wall thickness, valves?)
very elastic, thick wall, no valves

not elastic, thin wall, valves present

Why are arteries suitable for their purpose?
thickness-quicker movement to body- handle pressure
elasticity- allows dilation
Why are veins suitable for their purpose?
valves- back flow
Why are capilaries suitable for their purpose?
one cell thick- efficient flow
What type of circulatory system is the body and where are they?
double circulatory system, to lungs, to heart
