Q

How could God justly put man’s sin upon an innocent victim?

A

God is just in all that he does, and Jesus lays his life down willingly.

John 10:18. The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life—only to take it up again. No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to take it up again. This command I received from my Father.”

Q

Can the atonement in any way be effective in human lives where the gospel is unknown?

A

General Revelation reveals God, but by itself is not enough.

A person must make an authentic confession, and people can’t call on what they haven’t heard (Rom. 10:12-14)
