What is cell culture?
Cell culture is a process by which cells are reproduced outside the organism they come from.
Why is cell culture done?
cell cultures are done to better understand how cells work.
How are they used?
To test medications and beauty products. As well as to develop vaccines and to create tissues.
What liquid or solid medium do cells need to grow?
water, minerals, glucose, etc.
What are the original conditions of the cell’s environment so they can grow and reproduce properly?
temperature, humidity, pH, etc.
Where must the work be done and what is added to the culture to prevent any bacterial contamination?
This work must be done in a sterile environment and adding antibiotics to the culture prevents any bacterial contamination.
