refers to activities and process that a business may offer over the internet. It is used as a tool to communicate with customers and suppliers as a means of improving operations.

- reduced costs of operating
- ability to monitor real time data, helping manage materials
- communicate with customers with fewer resources

- increased accessibility, improving customer satisfaction
- ability to monitor demand, helping plan for materials and production needs.
