CSR
CSR takes into account an approach that is both ethical and socially responsible. It is where a business goes above and beyond legal expectations required by regulators, to express concern for how its practices impact on the environment, societies’ health and welfare, and demonstrates an ethical concern for its workforce.
positively impact the business by building a positive corporate culture, a good brand image and reputation which in turn will attract customers and highly skilled employees.
Corporate Social Responsibility when implementing change
Business should consider issues surrounding Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) when implementing change, corporate values should remain a central focus during times of change, these include:
honesty, support, sustainability
Honesty
When communicating the benefits of the change it is important leaders are honest about any negative impacts, change in roles or redundancies that may occur as a result, as well as the impact on the community
support
Managers should be sympathetic to the emotions of employees as change can be stressful and employees may require support throughout the change process. Support may include such things as training or confidential counselling to assist employees transition through the change.
sustainability
Management should consider the triple bottom line when implementing change, ensuring the impact of its processes and products does not negatively affect customers, employees, shareholders and the wider society.
