A

Both look for traffic. PF can maneuver the aircraft if needed once the traffic is visually identified.

What does the PF do for a TCAS RA? (Clean configuration)

A

-Disengage AP and AT
-Follow guidance
-Follow lateral flight path unless visual contact requires other action.

What does the PM do during a TCAS RA?

A

-Advise ATC: “XYZ CENTER, GTI400, TCAS RA”

-Then once clear of conflict say “XYZ CENTER, GTI400, CLEAR OF CONFLICT, RETURNING TO XXXX”

A

-Disconnect AP and AT
-Advance thrust to max
-Call “FLAPS 20”
-Follow guidance
-After PM says positive rate, PF says “gear up”

If you hear “ADJUST VERTICAL SPEED” what does this mean?

A

REDUCE vertical speed. It will never mean to increase vertical speed. (Later models have changed to say “LEVEL OFF-LEVEL OFF”
