How do you perform a balked landing?

A

Disconnect autopilot, autothrottle, advance to go around thrust, verify speedbrakes are retracted. Maintain configuration UNTIL passing VREF, then call “go around flaps 20”. Everything from there is a normal go around. Re-engage automation at 250’ as needed. FLCH or VNAV will reactivate the AT

Yes it is considered a hard landing, if both main gears contacted the ground. A hard landing requires a report.
