Engine Failure During Go-Around Flashcards
What is a big concern regarding asymmetric thrust in a go around?
Having multiple autopilots engaged means the rudder is being taken care of. During a go around, it will switch back to 1 autopilot. The rudder will not be controlled by the autopilot and will require substantial pilot input.
What does the FCTM say about an engine failure during a go-around/missed approach?
That it should be treated as though it occurred during a flaps 20 takeoff. All procedures are the same as an engine failure on takeoff.
When multiple autopilots are engaged, the rudder is being taken care of. When does it stop steering the rudder?
When any of the following:
-lateral mode selected
-vertical mode selected
-altitude capture mode selected
