Do we have a Fire ‘Detection’ in the Cargo Compartment?
No, only smoke detection

What’s the difference between the two fire bottles in the cargo extinguishing system (200)?
Bottle 1 discharges a portion of its contents initially to flood the compartment, and then meters the remainder slowly. Bottle 2 discharges it contents slowly. Provides fire suppression for 45 minutes.
What’s the difference between the two fire bottles in the cargo extinguishing system (700/900)?
Bottles can selected to either the forward or aft cargo compartment. Bottle 1 discharges immediately. Bottle 2 discharges its contents slowly to maintain Halon concentration in the cargo bay fo 60 minutes.
Are there differences between the slow release bottles in the 200 and 700/900 and what limitation does this tie into?
200 - 45 minutes of suppression, aircraft must be within 45 minutes of a suitable airport. 700/900 60 minutes of suppression, aircraft must be within 60 minutes of a suitable airport.
What is a good first flight of the day fire test in a 200?
Ensure there is no APU FIRE FAIL caution message FIRE DETECTION panel: -LOOP switches (5) set to BOTH -TEST switch hold at WARN -Both master warning, triple chime -LH/RH ENG FIRE PUSH and BOTTLE 1/BOTTLE 2 ARMED PUSH TO DISCH switch lights illuminated -APU FIRE PUSH and BOTTLE ARMED PUSH TO DISCH switch lights illuminated -Fire bell & “JETPIPE OVERHEAT” aural And the following Red Warning messages: -L ENG FIRE -R ENG FIRE -APU FIRE -L JETPIPE OVHT -R JETPIPE OVHT Ensure no FIRE FAIL Amber Caution messages appear. TEST switch release. -All fire detection indications are removed TEST switch hold at FAIL and verify the following: -Both master cautions, single chime and the following Amber Caution messages: -L FIRE FAIL -R FIRE FAIL -APU FIRE FAIL -L JETPIPE OVHT FAIL -R JETPIPE PVHT FAIL TEST switch release and all fire detection indications are removed. FIREX MONITOR Panel ENGINE BOTTLE 1 & 2 switches hold at TEST and verify the following Green Advisory messages: -L ENG SQUIB 1 -R ENG SQUIB 1 -L ENG SQUIB 2 -R ENG SQUIB 2 ENGINE BOTTLE 1 & 2 SWITCHES RELEASE AND ALL fire messages disappear CARGO BOTTLE switch TEST 1 verify the following: -Both master warnings, triple chime -NORMAL & STANDBY CARGO SMOKE PUSH switch lights illuminated -NORMAL BOTTLE ARMED PUSH TO DISCH switch light illuminated -“SMOKE” aural and SMOKE CARGO Red Warning message -Green Advisory message CARGO SQUIB 1 CARGO BOTTLE switch TEST 2 verify the following: -Both master warnings, triple chime -NORMAL & STANDBY CARGO SMOKE PUSH switch lights illuminated -NORMAL BOTTLE ARMED PUSH TO DISCH switch light illuminated -“SMOKE” aural and SMOKE CARGO Red Warning message -Green Advisory message CARGO SQUIB 2 CARGO BOTTLE switch release and all messages are removed

Press Test switch for 2 seconds and release. Verify the following: -Both master warnings flash for the duration of the test -LH/RH ENG FIRE PUSH and BOTTLE 1/BOTTLE 2 ARMED PUSH TO DISCH switch lights illuminated -APU FIRE PUSHA ND BOTTLE ARMED PUSH TO DISCH switch lights illuminated FIRE SYS OK Green Advisory message -After approximately 30 seconds, the test will be complete, and all fire detection indications re removed. Any malfunctions will be shown in the form of Amber Caution or White Status messages

Can the fire bottle be direct to either engine?
Yes, they are directed to the engine with the associated ENG FIRE PUSH switchlight selected
If both bottles are fired into one engine, is there any remaining fire protection?
No. There are only 2 bottles
