Systems - Anti-Ice Flashcards
When would you use the windshield heat in the HI position?
When LOW is not warm enough to shed accumulated ice.
What stage pneumatic air is used for the wing anti-ice in the 200?
14th Stage bleed
What stage pneumatic air is used for the wing anti-ice in the 700/900?
Normally the 6th stage supplies air to operate the pneumatically operated systems. When the demand exceeds the 6th stage capability the high pressure valve (HPV) is commanded open to supply 10th stage bleed air.
What is the difference between the anti-ice test messages in a 200?
Below a preset temperature, Amber Caution message. Above a preset temperature, Green Advisory message.
What is the difference between the anti-ice test messages in a 700/900?
Amber Caution message and Green Advisory message ADS HEAT TEST OK
If you forget to turn on the Probes, will they turn on automatically?
Yes, All probes are ON at full power automatically regardless of switch position once airborne
How are the wing leading edges kept clear of ice in flight?
With the wing anti-icing system. In normal circumstances, each engine provides bleed air to its associated wing.
If an engine fails, can we get hot air to the other wing in a 200?
Yes, the 14th stage ISO valve may be opened to connect the two sides of the wing anti-icing system
If an engine fails, can we get hot air to the other wing in a 700/900?
Yes, via the Wing Anti-Ice Cross-bleed duct and valve.
Do we ever takeoff with the windshield heat turned off?
Yes, if the ambient temperature is above 30°C
