Alpha 1 selective Blockers

A

PTDT
Prazosin, terazosin, Doxazosin, tamsulosin

SInce they block alpha 1 they prevent vascular smooth muscle contraction and bladder spincter tightening

USED MOSTLY IN BPH, can also lower BP

May cause ortho hypotension and reflex tachy

What is unique about Acebutolol and Pindolol as beta blockers

A

They are actually very weak agonists but because they displace norepinephrine, which is a much stronger natural gonist, they work as antagonists.
