Urethral injury
Acute prostatitis

What can be done to reduce the incidence of stricture formation and retrograde infection?
A
Size 12 for females, 14 for males Clean catheter tube/entry site 2x daily Change leg/night bag weekly Use appropriate leg straps/catheter sleeve Empty bag when 2/3 full

A
Suprapubic catheterisation
-mandatory if pelvic trauma/suspected urethral injury
USS guided drainage
