A
majority of cases are idiopathic

to exclude vestibular schwannoma

what is used by ENT for all cases of SSNHL?
A
high dose oral corticosteroids

what does this result mean:
Weber test lateralises to the left side. Rinne test shows air conduction louder than bone conduction bilaterally.
A
Weber’s test lateralised to the left = conductive HL in left ear or SNHL in right ear
Rinne’s test air conduction louder than bone conduction ⇒ SNHL in right ear

what can be given if there is no response to oral steroids?
A
intra-tympanic steroids
