A

replacement of normal bone by vascular spongy bone, causing progressive conductive deafness due to fixation of stapes at the oval window

A

what are the features of otosclerosis?

A
  • conductive deafness
  • tinnitus
  • normal tympanic membrane*
  • +ve fam hx (autosomal dominant)

*10% have ‘flamingo tinge’ caused by hyperaemia
