what are the conditions in which it is advised by NICE CKS to refer immediately to an emergency department (within 24 hours)?
A
- sudden onset (≤3 days) unilateral/bilateral HL which has occurred within the past 30 days and cannot be explained by external or middle ear causes
- unilateral HL associated with focal neurology e.g. altered sensation, facial droop
- HL associated with head/neck injury
- HL associated with severe infection e.g. necrotising OE, Ramsay Hunt syndrome
