-Parking brake ON
-Both volume knobs OFF
-ACP INT/RAD switch set to INT
-Press CVR TEST pb and listen for the frequency through the speakers

What is the purpose of the GND CTL pb? Why do we select it on during preflight?

Answer 2

Allows the pilot to activate the CVR when the logic has automatically deactivated it. It is G4 policy to record all checklists during preflight.

What is the CVR and DFDR automatic activation logic?

-For 5 mins after electrical power is supplied to the aircraft, or after last engine shutdown.
-After the first engine start.
-Anytime in flight.
